All Cronkite School students are skilled storytellers, but our strategic communication students harness their content-creation abilities in goal-oriented, audience-focused client communications to become PR pros, digital marketers, social media managers, in-house content producers and entrepreneurs.

Clients seeking innovative AR content might turn to our New Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab, while clients seeking sales might employ our PR Lab to design a product rollout, or work with our Digital Audiences Lab on marketing campaigns. By doing hands-on work with real clients—and pursuing coursework in digital analytics, SEO, PR research, strategy development and more—students emerge prepared for roles in PR, marketing, audience research, community engagement and media leadership.

The Cronkite School’s acclaimed “teaching hospital” model of education offers students real-world training in live newsroom and agency environments under the supervision of top professionals.

Our expertise comes from working with clients to create content, launch campaigns and achieve results. Three immersive experiences give students this hands-on learning: Our Digital Audiences Lab is a digital marketing agency serving media clients; our PR Lab is a full-service public relations agency; and our New Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab is where students create cutting-edge AR/VR and game-based content experiences.
Add a minor or graduate certificate
Any ASU undergraduate may add the Digital Audiences minor, while any ASU graduate student may pursue a graduate certificate in Digital Audience Strategy; in both programs, students learn key digital marketing tactics in social media, search engines, analytics platforms, digital strategy and more. Along the way, they earn industry-recognized certifications and hone sought-after skills.

Each year, the Cronkite Career Services team places nearly 500 students in internships at more than 225 companies across the country. In addition to hosting recruiters and networking events, the team also provides comprehensive professional branding and career planning services.
