The Cronkite School is celebrating The Class of 2021 with three different graduation events! Please continue reading for all of the important details you need to know.
Friday, April 30
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Arizona time
First Amendment Forum
Special Photo and Video Opportunity
Throughout the day on Friday, April 30, graduating students can sign up to have their name called and walk across the stage in the forum to receive their diploma cover, congratulations of the deans, and have their photo taken in academic regalia.
We will livestream your graduation walk on YouTube so families and friends can watch.
Interested students are required to register. Graduating students were sent an invite on Thursday, April 1 to sign-up for an available time slot. Reminders will be sent until the deadline. Registration will close April 23.
Only a select number of students, faculty and staff are permitted on campus for this recognition. Per University guidelines, no guests are permitted. Face coverings are required, and ASU’s community of care guidelines will be enforced.
Monday, May 3
9 a.m. Arizona time
The university will premier ceremonies on YouTube that can be viewed at any time. Upload your photo and personal message through the link on your MyASU so that your recognition slide is customized and included in the ceremony. Deadline to upload your materials is Wednesday, April 21 at 11:59 p.m.

Monday, May 3
6 p.m. Arizona time
The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication will celebrate its spring 2021 graduating students with a virtual ceremony watch party on Monday, May 3 at 6 p.m. Arizona time.
Please join us in honoring you, our newest graduates of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This is a special tribute to our graduates and features our keynote convocation speaker, Yamiche Alcindor, student speaker and student awards.
We hope your families and friends can join as well to celebrate you and commemorate the monumental achievement of our graduates. Join us Monday, May 3 at 6 p.m. on Facebook and YouTube to celebrate Cronkite Nation.
The Marching Order graduation registration portal to submit your information for virtual commencement opened Monday, March 29. The link to submit your information is available on the MyASU accounts of all students who have successfully applied for graduation.
ASU is creating individual graduation recognition slides for students as part of the ceremony. The deadline to register for virtual ceremonies, submit your personal photo, and personal statement is Wednesday, April 21 at 11:59 p.m.

Graduates will be able to purchase everything they need for graduation such as caps, gowns, announcements, frames, class rings and more at the Spring 2021 Online Grad Fair on Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. EST to Tuesday, April 6 at 10 p.m. EST. The Online Grad Fair is the only time when students can get a discount on graduation packages. For more information about Grad Fair, click here. Academic regalia is also available at all ASU Bookstores.
Please visit https://graduation.asu.edu/get-social to view and download a number of images and backgrounds to help you celebrate your achievement. By using this alternate visual imagery, students can create mementos to commemorate this special occasion.
Students planning to graduate in spring 2021 should apply for graduation by the deadline of Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Visit the University Registrar Graduation Page for graduation application instructions. The undergraduate and graduate degree filing fee is $50. An additional $25 fee will be assessed for each additional concurrent degree. A late fee of $35 will be assessed to anyone applying after the Feb. 15 deadline.
To be considered for Cronkite Convocation special student awards and to ensure your name appears in the Cronkite Convocation program, you must apply to graduate by the Feb. 15 graduation application deadline.
Diplomas are mailed approximately six to eight weeks after the degree conferral date to the home address on file with University Registrar Services. Please update your home address via MyASU prior to Commencement to ensure the delivery of your diploma.
If you are eligible for honors cords, the Registrar’s Office will automatically mail them to you. Please update your home address via MyASU to ensure the delivery of your honors cords.
