Carnegie-Knight News21

Carnegie-Knight News21 is a national reporting initiative headquartered at the Cronkite School, which brings top journalism students from across the country to report and produce in-depth, multimedia projects for major outlets, including The Washington Post, NBC News and USA Today.

Students selected for the News 21 program study a topic in-depth during a spring video-conferenced topics seminar, followed by a 10-week reporting fellowship during the summer. Students work out of a newsroom at the Cronkite School and travel the country – and sometimes other countries – to report and produce their projects.

The program is led by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Jacquee Petchel.

Dow Jones News Funding Training

Top journalism students from across the country get intensive digital media training at the Cronkite School each year as part of the prestigious Dow Jones News Fund program.

DJNF students spend a week at the Cronkite School polishing their multimedia skills before they head to 10-week, paid internships across the U.S. at major media outlets such as The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, The Denver Post, MSN, Comcast and The Arizona Republic.
