Arizona PBS, a community service of Arizona State University, is partnering with the Citizens Clean Elections Commission to host a series of debates to help inform voters for the 2022 election cycle.
The debates, which will include candidates for federal and state, will take place between late April and late June. The debates will air on Arizona PBS and stream on the Arizona PBS website and other partner outlets. The debates allow citizens to hear directly from the candidates as they discuss the important issues at stake.
“The goal of these debates is to help educate Arizona voters on crucial issues as they prepare to cast their ballots during the upcoming election season,” said Arizona PBS General Manager Adrienne Fairwell. “Arizona PBS is proud to join our partners in hosting these debates as we look to serve voters and form a deeper connection with our audience.”
“Debates may be the only time for many voters to see and hear from candidates outside of 30-second commercials on television,” said Clean Elections Chairman Damien Meyer. “The unrehearsed, real-time, exchanges are insightful, and our goal is that the conversation stay focused on the issues that are top of mind among Arizona voters.”
All debates are scheduled to air at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. MST. The statewide office debates schedule will be updated with the names of invited and confirmed participants throughout the elections season. It can be viewed on the CCEC website.
