It’s a great opportunity for us to partner with such a prestigious organization like Dow Jones and interact with other residency directors from across the United States.”The nine-day training program includes lessons in visual storytelling, social media analytics, basic coding and podcast production. Following the program’s conclusion, students spend 10 weeks at paid internships across the nation.“Mike Wong and the faculty at the digital media program do a fantastic job equipping interns with enhanced skills to succeed in their summer jobs,” said Linda Shockley, managing director of the Dow Jones News Fund. “We always look forward to showcasing the project the students create in such a short time.”Launched in 1960, the DJNF summer internship program supports seven training sites at leading journalism schools. This year, 85 undergraduate and graduate students were selected from more than 750 applicants for the program. Of the 85 selected, six program participants are from the Cronkite School.
