Cronkite Student Takes First in National Radio Competition

Michiko Howlett, a Cronkite student and news director of the campus radio station, won first place for radio feature reporting in the nation’s most prestigious intercollegiate journalism competition, the Hearst Awards. In addition to Howlett’s first place taking, sophomore Sam Gavin took seventh in radio, senior Ian Schwartz placed eighth in TV feature reporting category and senior Monique Griego placed 13th in TV.
