Video Production and Graphics Lab
Get hands-on experience in television production, post-production and motion graphics using state-of-the-art equipment.
Lights, camera, action!
The Video Production and Graphics Lab is a unique professional program at the Cronkite School in which students gain hands-on experience in television production and learn to build creative motion graphics.
In the Lab, students learn TV studio production, including all elements of control room and studio production for a daily newscast, and building motion graphics for news packages, studio presentations, social media and digital platforms. Students collaborate across Cronkite’s various media organizations, running the behind-the-scenes operation of the award-winning daily newscast of Cronkite News, and creating graphics and editing video for the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, the Cronkite Agency and more.
The Video Production and Graphics Lab lets students experience what it takes to get content on the air in professional studios, control room and newsroom settings. They’re introduced to both the process and the people in the Phoenix TV market and beyond, and gain connections in the industry. Students also get to flex their creative muscles, building dynamic graphics working with clients throughout and beyond the school.
