Meet the economists who collect and publish economic data for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Speakers will include:
- Chris Rosenlund, regional commissioner, West Region
- Matt Insco, branch chief, Economic Analysis & Information Office
- Shelley Moore, field economist, Consumer Price Index Program
The speakers will share data on labor force characteristics of foreign-born workers – where they work, what jobs they do, occupational dangers, and other trends that provide perspective on the people behind economic statistics; tips on finding and using government statistics for stories; and provide insight into how they interact with local area households and businesses to collect economic data. They will also provide resources specifically for journalists.
The event will include a Q&A for students and attendees.
