We are thrilled to announce the Hubert H. Humphrey End of Year Ceremony on Thursday, April 27 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the First Amendment Forum. This special event will be an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Humphrey Fellows at Arizona State University, as well as the legacy of the late Hubert H. Humphrey, former vice president of the United States and champion of civil rights.
We are honored to have as our guest speaker Ambassador H.E. Robie Kakonge, the Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of The Republic of Uganda. She is based at the Uganda Embassy in Washington DC, but is also accredited as a non-residential Ambassador to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela. Born in Uganda and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she has an undergraduate degree in journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
The ceremony will also include remarks from ASU faculty and the Humphrey Fellows, as well as a presentation of awards to outstanding students. We look forward to a memorable evening of reflection, inspiration, and community as we come together to honor the legacy of Hubert H. Humphrey and the achievements of the Humphrey Fellows. Please RSVP by April 20 to confirm your attendance, and feel free to share this invitation with friends and colleagues who may be interested in joining us for this special occasion.
