The Cronkite School will host “A Lifetime of Sports Photography, A Canon Presentation” with veteran photographer Damian Strohmeyer on Nov. 15 from noon to 1 p.m.
Damian Strohmeyer is a husband, father, grandfather and a working photographer with more than 40 years experience. After stints at The Topeka Capital-Journal and The Denver Post newspapers, he had a 28-year association with Sports Illustrated, at the time the foremost sports publication in the world, with three million subscribers and over 17 million readers weekly. He photographed more than 2,500 assignments for SI and his photographs have appeared on the cover 73 times.
He currently works as a freelance photographer photographing weekly for AP Images during the NFL season. He works throughout the year on a variety of academic and commercial assignments and also consults for various clients who are looking for experienced eyes to help define their brand.
Lunch will also be provided for those who attend the event.
