Cronkite Live "How do I get from the Cronkite School to the New York Times?"

A team from the New York Times is coming to the Cronkite School next week to tell students about all things NYT, including career and fellowship opportunities, culture/mission, commitment to diversity, and much more. Don’t miss this chance to network with Times leaders at a 4 p.m. reception preceding the speakers’ panel, which starts at 4:30 p.m.

The event will include refreshments and a meet-and-greet with students and NYT team. Those unable to attend in person will be able to view the presentation virtually via livestream on the Cronkite YouTube Channel. Below is more information on the evening.

Itinerary

4 p.m.: Reception with refreshments. Students get to network with Times leaders in the Forum.

4:30-5:30 p.m.: Speakers’ program (In-person in the Cronkite’s First Amendment Forum or Livestream)

5:30-6 p.m.: Q&A

6 p.m.: Conclusion of event/visit

Who will present
Sharon Chan: Introduction to the New York Times, its culture, its mission and its commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity.
Ted Kim: Career opportunities at the NYT – everything from investigative journalism to artists to games to freelancing. Also discussing programs and general NYT fellowships.
Sona Patel: Launch of the local investigative journalism fellowship. Its goals: Tell more local investigative stories and diversify ranks of investigative journalists. Rolling applications beginning the first quarter of 2023
