“Under the March Sun, the Story of Spring Training”
In addition to “Under the March Sun,” Charles Fountain is the author of “Another Man’s Poison: The Life and Writing of Columnist George Frazier,” and “Sportswriter: The Life and Times of Grantland Rice.” A former television and radio sportscaster, Fountain’s writing has appeared in more than three dozen newspapers and magazines, including The Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor and the Columbia Journalism Review. He has appeared regularly on ESPN’s “SportsCentury” series, commenting on the myth and culture of American sport, and has been a guest on NPR and on more than 50 radio and television stations across the county.
