Each year the Cronkite School awards to its students more than $100,000 in scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000.
These scholarships are possible because of the generous donations of Cronkite alumni, local media companies and organizations, and other benefactors who want to help worthy Cronkite students complete their educations.
To apply for a Cronkite School scholarship, complete the online application form, available after Dec. 15. The application deadline is Feb. 7 for awards for the next academic year.
The application requires an essay of no more than 250 words. We suggest you write your essay in advance, copy and paste into the appropriate place on the form, and print a copy of the completed application for your records.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
• You must be a Cronkite School student;
• You must have completed at least 12 credit hours of academic coursework at ASU;
• Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to qualify for need-based scholarships.
Applicants will receive email confirmation by Feb. 15 that their completed applications have been received.
Those who are awarded scholarships will be notified via letter by the end of the spring semester. The letter will be sent to the recipient’s address on file with ASU.
If you are an incoming freshman at the Cronkite School, you do not need to complete the online application to be eligible for a Cronkite scholarship. You will be considered for both merit-based aid and Cronkite scholarships based on your ASU application. However, Cronkite has only a limited number of scholarships available for freshmen; many more are available through the ASU Scholarship Office.
