Cronkite students dominate 2024 NATAS Student Production Award nominations

Friday, Aug. 2, 2024

Students at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication dominated the nominations field of the prestigious Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Student Production Awards. Nominated for their exemplary work in reporting, editing, directing, producing, writing and photography, students earned 24 nominations across 13 categories—more than any other college or university.

Cronkite students nabbed every nomination in the “College Sports Program” and “College Sports Story or Segment” categories. Student Henry Domine and recent graduate Tabitha Bland each earned three nominations; Bland recently began her professional career as a multimedia journalist at WMTV 15 News in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honors the art and science of professionals and students working in television with regional Emmy Awards and Student Production Awards, and covers the regions of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and southeastern California.

Winners will be announced at the Student Production Awards ceremony on Sept. 21 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
