The Howard Center Advisory Board provides guidance and input on the direction and operations of the Howard Center at the Cronkite School.
The board consists of seven members:
- Maud Beelman, executive director, Howard Center
- Liz Carter, president and CEO, Scripps Howard Foundation
- Leonard Downie Jr., Weil Family Professor in Journalism and former executive editor of The Washington Post
- Pam Howard, emeritus board member, Scripps Howard Foundation
- Brian Lawlor, president of local media for The E.W. Scripps Company
- Norm Pearlstine, executive editor, Los Angeles Times
- Roy Perkins, communications and public affairs specialist
Ex officio members are:
- Battinto Batts, director, Scripps Howard Foundation Journalism Fund
- Christopher Callahan, dean, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication
- Kristin Gilger, senior associate dean, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication
- Jake Howard-Potter, artist
