Real-World Experiences

Journalism goes beyond the classroom at the Cronkite School with a dozen innovative professional immersion programs in which students get real-world experiences in areas such as broadcasting, business journalism, sports journalism, public relations and digital production. Their work regularly appears in professional news organizations. Students also participate in more than 500 internships and win over 100 journalism awards and honors each year. In addition, students can report for award-winning campus news organizations, which include two digital news outlets and a radio station located in a state-of-the-art Cronkite studio.

Students annually participate in more than 500 internships at top media organizations and public relations agencies. Mentorship Program

Networking starts early at the Cronkite School. Within the first few weeks of class, hundreds of freshmen participate in a mentorship program, which pairs them with media professionals. Mentors offer students advice, introduce them to colleagues and sometimes offer internships.Learn More
