Sunshine Week Public Records Scavenger Hunt

Monday, March 18, 2013 - 5:00am

To mark Sunshine Week, a national effort promoting open government and freedom of information, the Cronkite School is offering an informative and challenging Public Records Treasure Hunt. Developed by Professor Steve Doig, the Cronkite School's Knight Chair in Journalism and a leading authority on computer-assisted reporting, and Steve Elliott, digital director of Cronkite News Service, it allows participants to increase their knowledge of government records available online and gain a deeper appreciation of the value of having this information available to the public.

The best-scoring participant will receive a $20 coffee card. If there's a tie, a winner will be drawn.

The treasure hunt will be posted online first thing on Monday, March 18, and will be live until 9 a.m. Monday, March 25. The link is here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/66Z6GW9.

Please contact Steve Elliott, steve.elliott@asu.edu, with any questions about the treasure hunt or if you require accommodation. For more information on Sunshine Week, please visit http://www.sunshineweek.org.
