Global Conversations

Wednesday, February 19, 2020 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

International migration is quickly becoming a larger, global humanitarian and economic issue as conflicts continue in different regions and climate change impacts vulnerable communities. As populations impacted by these circumstances become poorer, they also seek opportunities as migrant workers. Humphrey Fellows Deusdedit Ruhangariyo, a Ugandan journalist, Pierre Dupenor, a media veteran in Haiti, and Mona Aly, a digital strategist in Egypt, discuss how migrant workers impact a country's economic growth.
