A Discussion with Damien Cave of The New York Times

Damien Cave, the deputy editor for digital on the national desk of The New York Times, is visiting Cronkite for a conversation over refreshments on the news organization's growing digital efforts. He also will discuss what it takes to land a job at one of the nation's largest and most-prestigious news operations.

Cave joined the Times in 2004 and has served on assignment in Baghdad. He also was the Miami bureau chief and a foreign correspondent in Mexico City for the Times. He started his career as a staff writer and editor at Rolling Stone magazine and Salon.com.

Later in the day, Cave will be on the ASU Tempe campus at 4 p.m. in the Pima Room of the Memorial Union to present "Is America Still the Land of Opportunity?" This event is sponsored by Arizona State University Libraries and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
