Cronkite School Hosts Training for 25 Global Journalists

The Cronkite School is hosting 25 global journalists and Murrow Fellows for a day of workshops and training on new and traditional broadcast media.

These international professionals are trained in print, broadcast and digital media and come to the U.S. to examine the rights and responsibilities of a free press in a democracy while observing the operational practices, standards and institutions of the media.

Event schedule:

  • 9 - 10 a.m. "How Are Social and Mobile Pressures Pushing New Frontiers for Traditional American Broadcast News?" with Dr. Bill Silcock
  • 10 - 11 a.m. "Media Literacy and Fact Checking" with Kristy Roschke
  • 11 - noon "Trollspotting: Dealing with the Dark Side of Media" with Dawn Gilpin
  • Noon - 1:30 p.m. Lunch with Cronkite Humphrey Fellows
  • 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. "Local Broadcast Media Today" with John Misner
  • 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. "The Journalist-Audience Relationship" with Jacob Nelson
  • 3:45 - 4 p.m. Watch live production of Cronkite News
