The Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at the Cronkite School is a new groundbreaking journalism program to advance deeply researched watchdog journalism. The Howard Center, supported by the Scripps Howard Foundation, focus on training the next generation of reporters through hands-on investigative journalism projects.

Master’s Degree in Investigative Journalism

The Howard Center for Investigative Reporting is the centerpiece of a first-in-the-nation new master’s degree – the M.A. in Investigative Journalism. This interdisciplinary program is designed for career-switchers and early or mid-career journalists, particularly those who have some expertise other fields or such as law, health, business, science and the arts. The program aims to combine that knowledge with investigative techniques and multimedia skills to produce stories with public impact.

Executive Editor Search

The Cronkite School is seeking an Executive Editor to lead its new Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at ASU, designed to produce significant investigative projects and prepare the next generation of great investigative reporters. The executive editor will oversee national investigative projects for digital, print and broadcast platforms, leading student reporting on topics of major social, economic and political concern.
