Bring the Cronkite School to You

Director of Cronkite high school programs in Cronkite vanAnita Luera, director of high school programs for Cronkite, brings journalism education to high school students around the state.

Anita Luera, the Cronkite School’s director of high school programs, brings journalism education directly to high schools across Arizona and neighboring states.

Driving a special vehicle she has dubbed “The Walt-mobile,” Luera travels with portable broadcast equipment that she brings into classrooms to give students the experience of what it’s like to be a journalist. She also attends career days and other school events.

ASU Foundation’s Women & Philanthropy program funded the purchase of the vehicle for the Cronkite School. Women & Philanthropy brings together women as a collective force to support Arizona State University as a New American University committed to excellence, access and impact.

The mobile outreach program is funded in part by a grant from the Scripps Howard Foundation, the corporate foundation of the E.W. Scripps Co. The Scripps Howard Foundation seeks to support quality journalism education while advancing the cause of free speech and promoting excellence in journalism.
