 Virgil Renzulli Virgil Renzulli served as vice president of public affairs at ASU from 2002-2014. His responsibilities in that position included overseeing the university’s media and public relations offices, community, city and state relations, ASU Gammage and ASU’s PBS station KAET-TV. He continues to serve as senior adviser to President Michael M. Crow.

Renzulli came to Arizona in July 2002 from New York, where he was associate vice president for public affairs at Columbia University with responsibility for overseeing the university’s media relations office, the university newspaper, publications and advertising, video production and Columbia’s Web news.

Prior to that, Renzulli held similar positions at New York University and the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as a high school teacher and later worked as a reporter and editor for four newspapers in the metropolitan Philadelphia area. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in political science, he also studied marketing at the Wharton School, creative writing at New York University and scriptwriting at Temple University. His novel “Caliburn” will be published in the summer of 2015 by Bagwyn Books, Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies.
