Gregg LeslieGregg Leslie is the executive director of the First Amendment Clinic at ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and is also a professor of practice at the school. Students in the clinic plan to work with Cronkite students on First Amendment and access issues.

Leslie previously served as legal defense director and staff attorney with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press for 17 years. The Reporters Committee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping journalists with legal issues by maintaining a free hotline for reporters, producing publications to educate them about their rights and filing briefs on their behalf in cases around the country. Leslie also contributed to the committee’s quarterly magazine, The News Media & The Law.

Leslie has served on the governing committee of the Communications Law Forum of the American Bar Association, and was a member of the ABA's Fair Trial and Free Press Task Force in 2011. He also served as chairman of the D.C. Bar’s Media Law Committee and Arts, Entertainment, Media & Sports Law Section, and taught a media law course in Georgetown University’s Master of Professional Studies in Journalism program.

Before law school, Leslie was a freelance journalist, and worked as a staff writer and research director with a Washington business and political magazine.
