Anchors Away
What role do news anchors play in our understanding of world events? In today’s Internet-driven media landscape, do we still need them? Are they just pretty faces, or do they help deepen the audience’s grasp of the news? You’ll hear insights from Nikiwe Bikitsha of eNCA, South Africa’s only 24-hour news channel; Borgia Samba Bouesso, a former anchor for national public TV in the Republic of the Congo; and Branko Veselinović, a prime-time news anchor and morning show host from Radio Television of Serbia.
