SmartPHX App Featured in News StoriesJuly 27, 2011 SmartPHX, the new smartphone app developed by Arizona State University students to help visitors and natives alike navigate downtown Phoenix, is garnering media attention across the state. Retha Hill, director of the New Media Innovation Lab, a program at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication that developed SmartPHX, talked about the project on “Horizon,” the public affairs show produced by Eight, Arizona’s PBS station. SmartPHX also was featured in stories on: SmartPHX was developed by students in the New Media Innovation Lab for RED Development, the developer of CityScape, one of the newest dining and entertainment hubs in downtown Phoenix. The GPS-activated app guides users to nearby restaurants, clubs, cultural, sports and entertainment venues. To download the app, go to www.smartphx.com on your smartphone’s Web browser.
