Federal officials in Arizona announced on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, a public-awareness campaign called "Don't Lie for the Other Guy," aimed at curbing so-called straw purchases of firearms. The practice involves a person buying a gun for someone who isn't allowed to purchase firearms, such as felons and illegal immigrants. The program is a collaboration between the U.S. Attorney's Office, the ATF and a sports shooting group.
