Financial AidEach year the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication has a limited number of graduate assistantships that it offers to its top applicants. Full-time graduate assistants work 20 hours per week and provide either research or classroom support for faculty members. Students awarded these assistantships receive full-tuition, health benefits and a stipend of approximately $11,000. Half-time assistants work 10 hours per week, are charged the in-state rate for tuition and receive a 50 percent remission of that tuition. Half-time assistants also receive an annual stipend of approximately $6,000. Students may apply for assistantships by submitting the application form found at http://www.asu.edu/graduate/forms/. Each year the Cronkite School also awards the Tom and Helen Tarbox Scholarship and several Phoenix Press Box Association Endowment scholarships. The Tarbox scholarship application is available here (PDF). Entering students are especially encouraged to apply. Students interested in the Press Box scholarships may apply after December 1 by visiting http://cronkite/asu.edu/undergrad/scholarships.php To be eligible for any of these awards, a student must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of Cronkite School courses each semester. Information about additional financial aid can be found at http://www.asu.edu/graduate/financial/ |
