Andrew Leckey, Reynolds Endowed Chair and President of the Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism

Andrew Leckey’s professional journalism career has included national newspaper syndication, network television, books and online sites. He was named Reynolds Endowed Chair in Business Journalism and President of the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism in 2009. As founding director of the center in 2003, Leckey launched a program that has trained more than 8,000 journalists nationwide at daylong workshops and online seminars. He initiated the BusinessJournalism.org site and the Barlett & Steele Awards for Investigative Business Journalism. He is a longtime syndicated investment columnist for the The Chicago Tribune, former CNBC anchor and author or editor of 10 financial books, including the Random House “Best Business Stories of the Year” annual anthology. He received the National Association of Investors Corporation’s “Distinguished Award in Investment Education.” The founding director of the Bloomberg Business Journalism Program at the University of California, Berkeley, Leckey also was a visiting professor at Boston University College of Communication. He is on the advisory board of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Business and Economics Journalism at Columbia University and the Media Management Program at Fordham University Graduate School of Business. He is frequently interviewed on business and business journalism topics, including The New York Times, “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer,” Newsweek, American Journalism Review, Los Angeles Times and Japan’s Asahi Shimbun.
