Jim Jacoby is a lecturer and the television production manager in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at ASU. Jacoby joined the school in June 2008. His duties include overseeing and training students for “NewsWatch,” the Cronkite School’s award-winning student-produced newscast. An experienced, Emmy award-winning Final Cut Pro editor and director, Jacoby brings 20 years of television production experience to the school. Jacoby began his career while still a student at ASU and prior to joining the faculty of the Cronkite School, he worked for eight years as an editor and director at KAET/Eight, the Phoenix PBS affiliate. While at KAET, Jacoby also was a faculty associate and taught television studio and field production. Before his tenure at KAET, he was a television newscast director at KPHO-TV, the Phoenix CBS affiliate, and a member of the production team at KTVK-TV, Phoenix. In addition to his Cronkite School duties, Jacoby works as a freelance editor and does graphics for the Arizona Cardinals, Sun Devil Football and several local production companies. He lives in Phoenix with his wife, Dawn and two daughters, Zoe and Sophia. | |
